Spring into Radiant Skin: Tips for Your Seasonal Skincare Routine
Spring is in the air, and with the changing season comes a new focus on skincare.
It's time to refresh your skincare routine for the new season.
This year, why not try a holistic approach to your spring skincare routine?
Here 5 HOLISTIC skincare tips for BLOSSOMING SKIN:
Get your glow on with natural exfoliants. Say goodbye to harsh scrubs and chemical peels, and hello to gentle, natural exfoliants like rice flour or ground oats. These will help remove dead skin cells and reveal brighter, healthier skin.
Gentle Exfoliation
Get your glow on with natural exfoliants. Please do not use harsh scrubs or chemical peels. This skin naturally sloughs itself. However doing a gentle exfoliation can help remove dead skin cells and reveal brighter, healthier skin. I love honey for it’s natural enzymatic action.

One Facial Exfoliant to try: HIBISCUS HONEY ENZYME MASK
It’s revitalizing, gentle and brightening. It’s antioxidant-rich for an overall healthy glow as well as hydrating and firms the skin
STAR INGREDIENTS INCLUDE:
Sugar - A natural humectant, which means it draws moisture from the environment and locks it into the skin. It is a natural source of glycolic acid, that stimulates cell regeneration and encourages new skin cells and thus younger-looking skin.
Lemon juice - An antioxidant, astringent, stimulant, hydrator. It provides a dose of the free radical-fighting antioxidant vitamin C, which helps keep skin even-toned and helps boost the skin's immunity.
Aloe Vera Gel - Aids in healing, soothes and protects. It contains antioxidants, enzymes, Vitamins A and C, and it is highly anti-inflammatory.
Hibiscus Infused Raw Sage Honey - Local California Honey has gentle enzymatic action that helps with healthy cell turnover. It contains many amino acids, vitamins, minerals and enzymes. Honey has more naturally-occurring antioxidants than almost any other botanically/naturally derived source. It has been found to have antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties as well as being a potent humectant, meaning it retains moisture to the skin.
Hydrate from the inside out.
Drinking plenty of water is important for maintaining healthy skin, but don't forget about hydrating foods like citrus, watermelon, cucumber, and celery. These will help keep you hydrated and give your skin a healthy glow.
Let’s not for get to also hydrate externally.
Toners are one of the most skipped steps, but in my opinion, one of the most important!
One to try: NH Nourishing or Balancing Facial Mist.
For more information on why toners and facial mists are important read How About Them Toners?
Protect your skin from the sun.
As the weather warms up, it's important to protect your skin from the sun's harmful rays. Choose a natural, mineral-based sunscreen. Even more important (in my opinion) is to cover exposed skin when in the sun for long periods of time - wear a hat and sunglasses for extra protection. I wrote two awesome articles on Sun care check em’ out! All About Sunscreen, the Good, the Bad, and the Worse and The Need to Knows of Enjoying the Sun Safely.
Switch up your skincare products.
Depending on your skin's needs - it may change with the seasons. Maybe you have been using a heavier moisturizer or extra layers to combat the winter dryness. Don't be afraid to switch up your skincare routine. Look for lightweight, hydrating products like facial mists and serums to keep your skin looking its best. Personally I prefer an oil serum as our skin is primarily made up of oil, oils are what nourish our skin the best. And when you find oils that are right for your skin, they will absorb beautifully and be lighweight. One to try: Nourishing or Balancing Oil Serum. Read All About Serums, Moisturizers & Balms here.
Take time for self-care.
Stress can wreak havoc on your skin, so take time to unwind and practice self-care. Whether it's taking a relaxing bath or trying a new yoga class, make self-care a priority and your skin will thank you.
