Part 4: SELF-LOVE + COMPASSION - Self-Love and Mindset for Healthy Happy Skin Series š¤
SELF LOVE + COMPASSION
If you have been following along during this series, I am so glad you are here in this community. I love teaching and sharing useable, practical and tangible knowledge so that you can take healing into your own hands.
To finish up this 4-part series, let's talk aboutā¦
S E L F - L O V E + C O M P A S S I O N.
Self-love and compassion go hand- in- hand with holistic esthetics and slow beauty - āwholeā body and skin wellness.
If I am being honest, I have struggled over the years. I used to pick a lot, and tell myself constantly how gross my skin was. And this was all while practicing as a traditional esthetician.
You see, one thing we never really delve into was mindset while attending school. I really wish that was a part of it, because what I know is that mindset and self-talk matter, they really matter. It's so amazing what a simple action can do for us and our skin.
I know... it really is so easy to beat ourselves up. It is easy to forget about taking care of YOU. The fact that we are running low on ālife gasā and completely un-compassionate with our own self. And it is definitely easy to nitpick at every single little flaw we (think we) have...
Iāve been thereā¦many times over. I completely understand. There is no doubt in my mind, that WE are our own worst enemy because of this self-talk. And to add flame to the fire, the beauty industry thrives on that negative speak to get you to continue that vicious buying cycle.
SPOILER ALERT!
Until you change your mindset and learn some of the tools and tricks I teach women so that they can be their own skin guru, you will continue spending $$$ after $$$ and still be NO WHERE near where you want to be. It's not about product... well maybe about 20% about product;) It's about SO MUCH more!
With that said. I made a shift.
Not only did I stop listening to the beauty industry (which I am essentially part ofš, though times have changed and so has my knowledge for the better). I also chose to learn about how the skin actually works and that it is a part of our whole being. BODY. MIND. SPIRIT. The skin is not a separate entity. So, between learning about the lymphatic system, connective tissue, mindset, intention, learning how to make proper and minimal, effective skincare. The shift has been tremendous.
I am now 42 and my skin has never been healthier!!! And not to toot my own horn, but people typically guess me in my 30's. To be quite honest, even though I am all about the positive, I do not think I look anywhere near my 30's.
BUTā¦ because I practice what I preach, my skin stays healthy and youthful. And that's what it's all about. That's what I'm all about!
And that's what I LOVE to teach women to do for themselves!
To me I am all about aging, pro-aging, aging gracefully, however you wish to phrase it. I want to age, I just want my skin to be vibrant and youthful while I do it.
I personally am fine with a few lines and wrinkles here and there. I've earned them and they are what gives my face character. That said, with gua, massage, face yoga, and facial reflexology honestly, you really can combat many signs of aging. That and mindset, of course.
When I look in the mirror, I now say to myself out loud, āI love youā, āyour skin is beautifulā, whatever comes to mind. I then manifest who I wish to feel safe and healthy in my life. In addition, I pray before each client, for them to feel safe, held, and healed.
I want to help other women make this shift. We are ALL beautiful. Truly loving our self and loving our OWN UNIQUE BEAUTY, that is where the shift of self-love happens. And this is where compassion and true healing can begin.
I would love to help you start this self-love journey, in any way I can.
But first, let me ask you? What do you consider self-love to be?
Iād like to know. Please comment belowš¤
